About

The Name

The name "Bixby" is the name of the street I grew up on, where I had the privilege of knowing a remarkable neighbor. She was a geography professor, Rhoades Scholar, devout nun, and die-hard hockey fan. Her kindness and respect for everyone, including the neighborhood kids, were truly inspiring. She dedicated her life to service, education, and learning, serving as a coach and mentor to many. Her influence played a pivotal role in shaping my journey, inspiring me to pursue a similar path.

Background

With 14 years (and counting) in K-12 education, including 9 in leadership roles, the best part of my “9-5” comes from building meaningful relationships with students. I guide them as they explore post-secondary options—whether it’s higher education, entering the workforce, taking a gap year, or military service. Each pathway requires thoughtful planning and preparation, and being part of that journey fuels my passion. Bixby Coaching lets me hyper-focus on what I love as a part-time gig!

What Sets Me Apart

Having observed college coaching firsthand, I've learned that the best coaches do more than just admissions. They empower students to discover their identities, aspirations, and ideal environments for success. I am not out for prestige, I build confidence, creating tailored plans alongside my students. The most effective coaches use tried-and-true systems and are well informed of trends in higher ed. I utilize professional tools to uphold accountability and provide a service people can trust and feel good about.

The Most Rewarding Part

There's nothing more fulfilling than seeing someone gain confidence and clarity throughout their college journey.  Witnessing students discover their spark, articulate their goals, and ultimately gain acceptance into a college where they can thrive is my joy! Knowing that I played a small part in helping them achieve their dreams is incredibly gratifying.
